This is for all the fellow aquamarine lovers out there! When I first started dreaming about my future career, I was only about 5. And by career, I mean I wanted to grow up and spend all day with animals. Now it is 18 years later and I just got off a boat after watching dolphins for 6 hours so I’d say it pretty much played out how I hoped it would.
My name is Cayla and I’m here to take you with me as I discover the world of marine biology and conservation! Throughout my life I have dedicated my time to helping animals … I was just always on land. Then I dipped my toes into the sea, and never turned back! I’ve always loved the ocean and growing up on the water I had such an appreciation for all the ocean can do for us. Becoming a part of it has been an amazing adventure! This past year I have spent my time becoming scuba certified, volunteering at a seal rehabilitation center, and traveling across Europe to assist in various marine wildlife related projects. So I’d say the marine world can lead to a pretty amazing future. From watching pods of dolphins in Spain to guiding baby sea turtles to the ocean in Greece I can’t wait to share my adventures with you, some cool stories of people in all different stages of their careers, and resources so you can join in on the fun and amazing work of marine conservation!
As I mentioned I am new to the field as well so if you have any input, ideas, or comments send me a message to my email or social media! I will also post more photos, videos, and updates on when blog posts are up on my Instagram page @caylaswildlife!
